Sass & Bide moves from London to New York

Australian label Sass & Bide are moving fashion week cities!

This aesthetic-led label was founded in 1999 by designers and friends Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke when they began to sell customised jeans in a Portobello Road Market stall. Clearly inspired by the Portobello Road area, the duo were motivated by a mutual love of vintage clothing.

The talented duo are opening their first American store in New York's SoHo and will now be showing at New York Fashion Week -- and fittingly so.

Veterans to London Fashion Week, their last [Autumn/Winter 2013] collection featured structural, monochrome pieces with bursts of yellow that was acclaimed to be their best yet by some. There has been a mixed response regarding the change of location, but we're personally supporters of the business venture; New York is a key fashion capital and we have no doubt that the city will treat them well.

The pair describe London as their ''heartland'' and promise fans and followers that they will be back soon.

We can't wait to have you back in the UK, ladies.

Cara Delevingne in GTA V

Supermodel Cara Delevingne is set to star as a DJ in forthcoming video game, Grand Theft Auto V, following in the footsteps of fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld.

Previously, Karl Lagerfeld selected his favourite dance and electronica tracks to be played on a radio station while you drive around in the game along with ''politically incorrect'' commentary.

Earlier today, she posted the picture below along with the big announcement.

Cara is quite the character herself, so we're excited to see what songs she selected for the highly anticipated video game!

Massively successful video game series Grand Theft Auto has been known to provide incredible soundtracks, so it is no surprise she will be reincarnated as a virtual DJ, especially as she has mentioned that she intends to pursue a career in the music industry.

Cath Kidston

Today we couldn't help but give a mention to Cath Kidston: the quintessentially British homeware and 'all things pretty' brand which is evolving to become a global favourite amongst middle-class mums and ladies alike. This cutesy, floral brand has drastically grown from the once little, modest shop in Holland Park 20 years ago to having 118 stores covering...well, EVERYWHERE!

It's such great news to hear that our friends over in the Asian territories are also falling head-over heels with Kidston prints; so much so that their eagerness to acquire all of her collections has pushed worldwide sales up by a whopping 19% - which is ace!

With this success, stores are looking to pop up in the likes of Shanghai and Indonesia meaning the love for pastel is spreading so much so that Cath Kidston resides in more stores overseas than in the UK itself (madness).

Anyway we hope to continue seeing the dainty brand popping up in more places, and to keep up the good work :)
P.S. We're definitely wanting these nails...

Oliver Proudlock & Oliver Sweeney

News came recently that Harvey Nichols will be celebrating the launch of the exciting collaboration between Made in Chelsea's Oliver Proudlock and well-established shoemaker Oliver Sweeney on Tuesday 20th August.

For some, Proudlock's ventures into design may come as a bit of a surprise as he is arguably best known for starring in reality TV show Made in Chelsea. However, this talented gentleman is flourishing in the fashion world and we're loving it! Coming from a fine art background (check out his work here on http://oliverproudlock.com/art/), he has recently followed in his mother's footsteps into fashion. He has set up his own lifestyle brand, Serge DeNimes, which is stocked in various shops internationally and has participated in various collaborations.

The collection has been available online and at Oliver Sweeney's Harvey Nichols, King Street and Conduit Street concession since May, and due to their exceptional success, an official launch party is to take place Tuesday 20th Aug. Quite frankly, we think it's only right that these great designers celebrate this gorgeous range in style (have a glass on us guys)!

Our favourites are the leopard print pictured underneath:

McQueen Newsflash

Okay, so this is possibly some of THE best news to really get us fashionistas all talking.

The renowned, royal of designs Alexander McQueen fashion house is collaborating with art genius Damien Hirst on a collection marking the 10 year anniversary of the infamous, highly desirable skull-print scarves. The collaboration will see the production of 30 different designs of a limited edition scarf that will see aspects of Hirst's 'Entomology' series. Hirst's colourful kaleidoscopic, geometrical shapes that are formed with different sorts of insects will be laid out to create the McQueen's skull motif.

This literally feels like Christmas came early!

To sum up, this collaboration will be a mixture of this:

And this:

We are extremely impatient to see what the scarves will look like!

They will be available from mid-November online and in stores.

Zandra Rhodes Unseen

This past week we had the pleasure to attend the private press view of Zandra Rhodes Unseen at the Fashion and Textile Museum!

We are SO impressed by the amount of press the Felicities team has achieved with features in publications such as The Times, Time Out, Vogue, Elle and even Radio 4!! The best part is that there are still numerous high end press articles still to come - and we can't wait to read it! Zandra is a true talent.

Make sure you go have a look at the stunning exhibition running until August 31.

Wireless Festival 2013

This past weekend Tabitha and I had the pleasure of going to Wireless Festival and it was incredible!

Justin Timberlake and Jay Z co-headlined the festival on Sunday evening and were joined on stage by Rihanna - it's safe to say the crowd went wild.

While there were a lot of celebrities attending the weekend event, we have to say our favorite for festival style was Daisy Lowe - she kept her look effortless and beautiful with a white tank, loose printed shorts and boots. She topped it off with flowy hair and sunglasses to protect herself against those rays! It was absolutely scorching hot during the festival - the sun came out for Wireless!

What a great weekend, hope you all had a great one too.
