The Best Steak in Town

Leicester Square is somewhere I  normally avoid at all costs and if by some misfortune I find myself in the vicinity - then I will be seen charging through with gritted teeth muttering 'bloody tourists' under my breath while clinging on to my bag for dear life.
So imagine my surprise to find that I would be spending an evening in the throbbing heart of this tourist   centre - and even more of a surprise that I had the best night I've had in ages.
An old friend, who was last seen whooping it up on a girly weekend in Las Vegas more than 10 years ago, thought it would be fun to recapture our wild times with a night out at the newly refurbished  Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square. So off I went with some intrepidation and certainly less cash in my purse than 10 years ago - so with limited expectations I was unprepared for the glamour, fun and fabulous dining experience to come.
I met up with the girls in the cocktail bar on the first floor where with delicious cocktails we perched in the centre of the casino watching the action at the tables below. It was early evening but the casino was already a hub of activity and the buzz of the gambling soon took hold and we were off to have a few spins on the roulette table before dinner.
Having lost a few pounds on the tables we were soon to swap these for the few pounds we put on in the restaurant. The biggest surprise of the evening was the fabulous dining experience available in the Heliot Restaurant -seated in the balcony looking over the main gambling floor we were able to continue to enjoy the excitement during dinner. And hence the highlight of the evening - five star dining and service with a delectable menu that will ensure my return to sample more of the delights. I have to say that I had the best steak I have had in town for a long time - the thought of the succulent fillet steak is still making my mouth water now.
I will not labour long about the evening - girly nights are best relived with vast quantities of wine rather than through the written word - but I will just say that after fine dining, decadent cocktails, girly giggles and outrageous flirting (plus the loss of quite a few more pounds at the tables) - I was still able to wake the next morning declaring that I will return to the Hippodrome at the earliest opportunity.
